LIFE ELEKTRA proudly presented its groundbreaking electrochemical denitrification system at the VI Water Congress of Catalonia, held on March 18–19, 2025. The congress, themed “Water: Coexistence and Survival,” convened over 425 water management experts during one of Catalonia’s most challenging drought periods.
The presentation highlighted LIFE ELEKTRA’s EU-funded solution addressing nitrate contamination in water resources. By integrating renewable energy into the water treatment process, the project contributes to the EU’s Water Framework Directive goals through:
– Innovative electrochemical denitrification technology
– Reduced environmental impact from wastewater discharge
– Enhanced water resource efficiency
– Decreased greenhouse gas emissions
– Integration of clean energy production
This event marked a significant step in disseminating LIFE ELEKTRA’s sustainable approach to water treatment and its alignment with the EU Green Deal objectives.
