LIFE ELEKTRA Prepares Pilot Plant for Deployment in Gran Canaria

In a significant advancement for the LIFE ELEKTRA project, the pilot plant developed at Aguas de Valencia’s facilities in Gandia has successfully advanced in testing and will be containerized in the upcoming months. This milestone marks a pivotal step in demonstrating the project’s innovative approach to sustainable water treatment.

The pilot plant is set to be transported to the Canary Islands, where it will be installed in Gran Canaria island. This deployment aims to replicate LIFE ELEKTRA’s solutions in a new environment, focusing on the electrochemical removal of nitrates from drinking water and the generation of green hydrogen. By integrating renewable energy sources into the water treatment process, the project contributes to a circular economy model and aligns with the European Union’s environmental objectives.

The upcoming installation in Gran Canaria will provide valuable insights into the scalability and adaptability of LIFE ELEKTRA’s technology. It represents a crucial phase in validating the project’s effectiveness in diverse settings, ultimately contributing to more efficient and sustainable water resource management.

Stay tuned for updates on the pilot plant’s installation and operation in Gran Canaria as LIFE ELEKTRA continues to advance innovative solutions for environmental sustainability.
