In October 2023, representatives from Aguas de Valencia’s Innovation Drinking Water department presented the LIFE ELEKTRA project at the first European Young Water Professionals (YWP) Conference, organized by Young Water Professionals Denmark (YWPDK) in Copenhagen. This inaugural event convened over 150 young professionals from across Europe to discuss advancements and innovations in the water sector.
The LIFE ELEKTRA team shared insights into the project’s pioneering approach to sustainable water management, focusing on electrochemical denitrification technology powered by renewable energy sources. The project aims to remove nitrates from drinking water while generating green hydrogen, contributing to a circular economy model and aligning with the European Union’s environmental objectives.
Participation in the YWP Conference provided an invaluable platform for LIFE ELEKTRA to engage with the next generation of water sector professionals, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration. The event highlighted the importance of integrating innovative technologies and sustainable practices to address current and future challenges in water management.
