Gandía, Valencia – June 16, 2025
On June 13, the LIFE ELEKTRA consortium gathered in Gandía, Valencia, for an important monitoring visit hosted by Aguas de Valencia S.A., the project coordinator. The session brought together all partners and the appointed project monitor for a comprehensive review of progress made so far.
The visit served as a crucial checkpoint to assess deliverables, milestones, and potential bottlenecks since the start of the project. With the guidance and expertise of the monitor, the consortium engaged in a detailed discussion of results achieved across the different work packages. The constructive feedback provided will help fine-tune the implementation process, reinforcing the project’s trajectory toward its environmental and technological goals.
The outcomes presented during the session confirm the promising results achieved to date. They also reaffirm the consortium’s confidence in the positive environmental, social, and economic impact that LIFE ELEKTRA can deliver. The project’s innovative approach is paving the way toward a sustainable solution for nitrate removal, green hydrogen production and ionic compounds recovery, contributing to the EU’s environmental targets and circular economy strategy.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Gandía pilot plant, where the ELEKTRA prototype is already operational. The technology showcased on-site represents a tangible step forward in real-world application and validates the work of the consortium toward scalable and sustainable environmental solutions.
LIFE ELEKTRA is co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme and brings together leading partners committed to addressing critical water management and renewable energy challenges through innovation.
