LIFE ELEKTRA Publishes Breakthrough Electrode Study in Chemical Engineering Journal

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest scientific paper titled “Design, fabrication and evaluation of a 3D Bi₅₈Sn₄₂ electrode for electrochemical denitrification: toward industrial implementation” in the Chemical Engineering Journal.

Developed by Universitat de Alicante (UA) in collaboration With Aguas de Valencia from the ELEKTRA consortium, the study presents the design, fabrication and lab-scale evaluation of a novel 3D-structured electrode alloy engineered to remove nitrates from water streams while enabling scalable, energy-efficient operation.

This publication marks a significant milestone for LIFE ELEKTRA, demonstrating how advanced electrochemical materials can bring denitrification processes closer to real-world implementation, which further reinforces the consortium’s commitment to combining water purification, resource recovery and green hydrogen generation within one unified process.
