LIFE ELEKTRA took part in the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026, the European Commission’s flagship event on renewable energy and energy efficiency, held from 9th to 11th June in Brussels and online under the theme “A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union”. The project was represented on site by REDINN and online by Global Omnium, joining policymakers, researchers, industry leaders and innovators from across Europe to explore the latest developments shaping the continent’s clean energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the three-day conference, the LIFE ELEKTRA team followed discussions on renewable energy, energy efficiency, decarbonisation, energy affordability and Europe’s evolving Energy Union. Particularly relevant to the project were sessions addressing the integration of innovative technologies into the energy system, the role of clean hydrogen, energy communities, and the acceleration of sustainable solutions capable of supporting Europe’s climate and environmental objectives. These themes closely align with LIFE ELEKTRA’s mission of combining advanced water treatment with renewable energy generation through electrochemical denitrification and green hydrogen production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EUSEW also provided an excellent opportunity to engage with stakeholders from across the European innovation landscape, exchanging perspectives on circular economy approaches, sustainable infrastructure and the growing links between the water and energy sectors. The hybrid format enabled representatives from both REDINN and Global Omnium to participate in networking activities and follow high-level policy discussions, reinforcing the project’s visibility within Europe’s clean energy community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By participating in EUSEW 2026, LIFE ELEKTRA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Europe’s transition towards cleaner, more resilient and resource-efficient systems. As the project continues to demonstrate innovative solutions for nitrate removal while simultaneously recovering valuable resources and producing green hydrogen, events such as EUSEW provide an invaluable platform to connect with emerging policy priorities, strengthen collaborations and contribute to a more sustainable future for both the water and energy sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
